The Ultimate Liberator!

For the seekers of knowledge
Can there be a knowledge?
better than
The Knowledge of The Divine, Shri Rama!

The one who liberated
Even the blades of grasses
And all the swarms of ants

Leaving none behind
That ever existed
In the Good City of Ayodhya

And placed them in
An exotic heaven
Created exclusively for them
By the Great Grandshire Brahma!

My Lord's Story: Goodness Incarnate

Ramayanam in English poetry.

The Supreme Lord of the Universe was once born on this earth as a Human Being, faced challenges and had His share of pain and pleasure going through both good and bad times like any of us. Like any of us He too, took His turn in laughter and cry.

This humility of The Lord, that makes Him come down to earth and share with us our difficulties to show us a way to handle them is what I admire in Him. This quality of Him, makes me surrender to Him unconditionally and makes me want to sing His Glory on and on and on.

My Lord's Story is an out pour of my devotion that seeps out in gratitude for the pains He took to be a lighthouse for us, to cross the ocean of Samsara.

Saptha Rishi Ramayanam

Kashyapa MahaRishi's Balakandam

Sun's Descendant Dasaratha, prayed for an Heir
Baby Rama was born for Him to care
Vishwamitra taught Shri Rama strengthening Mantras Two
All The Divine Missiles in His pocession, He gifted too

Rama killed Tataka, in His debutant war
After trying His trademark courtesy, far
As a security for Vishwamitra's Ritual, He firmly stood
To breach which, none of Subhahu's henchmen could

Subhahu and his men, Rama easily slew
Hit by His Air Missile, Maricha flew
Akalya regained Her womanly form, from Stone
Cleansed by a stamp from Rama's Feet alone

Rama walked into King Janaka's Mithila City
He broke Shiva's Mighty Bow, like it was petty
Earth's Daughter Sita, He Happily Married
As Janaki Rama, in a procession He Royally Tarried

On the way, stood, angry and mighty Parasurama
Who cooled down on seeing, Greatness of Rama
Rama returned to Ayodhya, Happily
And lived for many years, Heartily

Athri MahaRishi's Ayodhya Kandam

Shri Rama was about to be coronated
A plot, in Manthra's mind, got generated
She inserted it into Kaikeyi's mind
And spoilt Kaikeyi who was actually kind

Kaikeyi shrewdly demanded the throne for Bharatha, her son
And that, into a fourteen year exile, Rama must be shun
This demand struck Dasaratha like a thunder
Fell Him on the floor, His Heart, broken asunder

Bharathwaja MahaRishi's Aranya Kandam

To make true of His Father's words, ShriRama decided
In the jungle with Sita and Lakshman, He contently resided
Becoming friends with Guha, a Hunter in the forest ranges
And crossing on a boat, The soul cleansing Ganges

Dressed in tree bark peels as per ascetic norm
In the Chitrakoota Hills, He lived, calm
He embraced Bharatha who came running unto Him
He made offerings to Dasaratha, with tears, brim

For the jungle residents, He did good
And met Agasthya MahaRishi, under His hood

Vishwamitra MahaRishi's Kishkintha Kandam

Guided by Agasthya, Rama made Home, The Panchavati Spot
For the ascetics of Panchavati, He stood as resort
Surphanaka's ears and nose, He did mar
Mighty Khara's army, He destroyed in war

A Golden Deer, that tricked Him, He did Fell
And the monkey king Vaali, He did kill
The jungle Kingdom, along with Tara, To Sugriva, He gave
As a good friend for Surgiva, in danger, He did behave

Gowthama MahaRishi's Sundara Kandam

Hanuman playfully leaped, across the sea!
Mother Sita, in Ashoka grove, He did see
He offered unto Sita, Her Rama's Signet Ring
And a praise for Sita and Rama, He did Sing

Starting from Aksha, He killed many demonic men
With a flame in His tail, He torched Lanka, then
He then swiftly flew towards Lord Rama's place
And reported to His Lord, Mother Sita's trace

Jamadhagni MahaRishi's Yudha Kandam

To build The Sethu Bridge to Lanka, Rama did instruct
A bridge made of woods and stones, Nala did construct
The valorous Monkeys reached Lanka with The Bridge as Road
They sieged Lanka like clouds and Like Thunders they roared

Like Yama, To kumbakarna's army, Lord Rama did stand
Destroying Ravana in battle,His Victory was Grand
Vibheeshana's Head to the Lankan Kingdom, He tied tight
Victorious Rama, with Sita, took The Pushpaka flight

He wiped from Bharatha's face the sorrowful frown
And to the delight of people, He accpected the Crown!

Vashishta MahaRishi's Uthara Kandam

An Honour to His Father, ShriRama, excelled as a very Good King
Lakshmana, Bharatha and Shathrugna, served from His innermost Ring
In His Rule, Rituals like Ashwametha Yagna, often took place
Not just humans, even animals like squirrels, received His Grace

King Rama helped all His citizens, relatives and friends to prosper
The Leader of all lives, Shri Rama, saw that everything was proper
After a few thousand years, His country into two, He divided
One Son for One Kingdom, To Rule, He equally provided

Rama walked to The Sarayu River and went in, One Fine Day
His Beloved Citizens, out of their Love, Followed His way!
He emerged From The Waters, As Vishnu, The Great
His Citizens with Him, entered Vaikunta's Gate!

Benefits of Recitation of ShriRama's Story

Ambrosia like ShriRama's Story, while reciting
The Sins acquired by mistakes, start depleting
Virtue, wealth and pleasure is acquired with ease
And a place in Vaikuntham, where Vishnu is in peace!
